What We Do / Case Study

Ecology Center

The Challenge

The Ecology Center, a not-for-profit organization in Ann Arbor, MI had hired another company to redesign their web site, but for some reason, it just never seemed to get quite finished. More than a year after the original company had begun the redesign process, the Ecology Center contacted Mouko, hoping we could finally get the site over the finish line and to a go-live state.

Knowing very little about the Ecology Center, the information their web site contained, and uncertain of the original re-designer’s programming skills and stylistic practices, Mouko had a lot to learn in just a little time.

The Solution

Mouko dove in and hit the ground running (to mix metaphors). We worked very closely with our designated contact at the Ecology Center to make sure every single item on their list was taken care of. One by one, the tasks that had seemed to drag on forever were finally disappearing from their checklist — and fast.

We rapidly developed new PHP applications in the mold of the original designer, we converted old pages into the redesigned style, and lots more, all while working within the pre-existing look and feel created by the original redesigner. We used Dreamweaver to make updates, not because we had to, but because that was the software with which the Ecology Center was most comfortable. We used PHP to develop applications, not because it is the only thing we know (far from it), but because the Ecology Center had already invested in that technology.

The Result

The Ecology Center’s site was up in weeks. They were so pleased, they went on to hire Mouko to create their internationally lauded HealthyToys.org web site. They continue to be a frequent customer to this day.
