The Challenge

Metalworks, a privately-owned Michigan company specializing in custom jewelry designs, lacked a system to track its inventory, time spent creating jewelry, and resource consumption. The company was profitable, but without being able to quantify the amount of time spent per piece, the volume of materials being used, or even the customers to whom the pieces had been sold, rates were not as accurate as they could have been and thus profits were not as significant.

The Solution

The team at Mouko created a database solution that fit Metalworks’ needs exactly, using the computing system with which its staff were most comfortable. We trained the Metalworks staff in its use, and even helped them to integrate previous information recorded on paper.

The Result

Metalworks’ loved their solution and found it easy to maintain lists of contacts and materials. The company’s client base increased and prices were adjusted based on facts rather than guesses.
